The story of the workshop
Design Office & Manufacturing Workshop
Since childhood, Denise Carter dreamed of creating her own brand and offering a high-end, custom clothing service, a passion passed down by her Senegalese nanny, Juliette B. At just 8 years old, she was introduced to sewing, crafting a bag entirely by hand.

Denise Carter
Fashion Designer – Pattern Maker
After finishing middle school, Denise Carter pursued a professional path to become a fashion designer and pattern maker, obtaining qualifications from BEP to BTS. She specializes in women’s and children’s clothing, as well as workwear, using a wide range of materials (leather, canvas, knitwear).
In 2011, she created the Petit Model brand, which reflects her personal story. She wanted to honor her Central African roots by incorporating wax fabric, a material that has been a staple of African fashion for centuries. She blends it with Western fabrics such as satin, silk, and leather. Each creation is designed from scratch—from sketch to production—with no pre-made customizations, ensuring a high-quality final product.
Denise Carter gained experience in manufacturing at La Redoute and later worked as a sewing instructor.
However, her most formative experience was as an assistant pattern maker in a French design office and garment workshop, specializing in mid-to-high-end fashion for prestigious national and international brands (which, due to confidentiality agreements, cannot be named).
Creative and open-minded, Denise Carter does not limit herself to her own fashion universe she already expresses that through her eponymous brand. She is happy to step into your world, creating a garment or accessory that reflects your unique style.
With expertise in both industrial and artisanal techniques, Denise Carter can assist with one-of-a-kind creations, technical design files, and prototype manufacturing for small- or large-scale production. She can also help optimize existing production lines and guide you in sourcing suppliers and manufacturers for industrial-scale production.
